The public is invited to an open house to learn more about the upcoming concrete paving project on westbound Interstate 90, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The open house is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Country Inn and Suites, 2214 E. Main St. in Albert Lea. Representatives of MnDOT and the contractor, Ulland Brothers Inc., will be available to answer questions.

MnDOT is scheduled to repave approximately 13 miles of westbound Interstate 90 with a concrete overlay between Freeborn County Road 46 to Highway 13 near Albert Lea beginning in May. Crews will also replace existing guardrail and replace the westbound bridge deck over Freeborn County Road 46. Motorists on I-90 will encounter single-lane traffic in each direction on the eastbound lanes during the resurfacing project. Select exit ramps from westbound I-90 will also be closed and detoured.
