Hometown Pride Cleanup Day planned

The city of Albert Lea is sponsoring  its Hometown Pride Cleanup Day from 9 a.m. to noon April 27.

As part of the event, the city will allow residents with proof of city residency to deposit one load of brush and yard waste, household garbage or demolition debris for free.

According to a press release, residents will also be able to bring in appliances, sofas and mattresses for $10, other furniture pieces for $5 and passenger car tires for $3 each. Regular rates will apply for rims and e-waste.

Waste Management has made a financial contribution to help sustain this year’s event.
