Rem Pitlick, who led Gopher Hockey in scoring for the second year in a row this season, has been named a First Team All-America selection by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

A native of Plymouth, Minn., Pitlick is the 38th member of Pride on Ice to earn First Team All-America distinctions (45th total First Team All-America honor) while the accolade is the 65th overall All-America award in program history.

The Gophers forward posted his best collegiate season in 2018-19 with career highs for points (45), goals (21) and assists (24) while also earning First Team All-Big Ten honors. Pitlick, who remains tied for the national lead with 10 power-play goals and three shorthanded goals, is tied for the eighth most points in the NCAA this year. His 21 goals this year are the most by a Gopher since All-American Nick Bjugstad scored 21 during the 2012-13 season while Pitlick’s 31 points in the second half of the season rank second among all NCAA skaters. The junior notched points in 31 of Minnesota’s 38 games this season including a career-long 13-game point streak.

Pitlick also led the Maroon & Gold in scoring as a sophomore in 2017-18 with 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) while recording Big Ten All-Freshman honors as a rookie in 2016-17 with 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists). He closed out his collegiate career with 108 points (47 goals, 61 assists) in 112 games for the Maroon & Gold, recording 30 or more points in each of his three seasons with Gopher Hockey. Additionally, Pitlick was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (earning the distinction every year he was eligible) and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar as a sophomore (eligible again as a junior).

The Nashville Predators drafted Pitlick in the third round (76th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and signed the prospect to a two-year, entry-level contract following the 2018-19 season. Pitlick became the 121st Gopher Hockey alum to play in the NHL when he debuted on March 25, 2019 – helping Nashville clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
