Workforce Development Inc. announced the selection of Jinny Rietmann as its new executive director, starting July 1, according to a press release. Rietmann will replace Randy Johnson, who will retie June 30 after having been with the agency for 34 years and as its executive director for the past 22 years.
Workforce Development Inc. is the service provider agency for the Southeast Minnesota Workforce Development Board, serving the 10 counties of southeast Minnesota.
“My goal is to continue to support the excellent work, customer service, and impact that WDI has made over the past 30 plus years,” Reitmann said. “Our most valuable asset is our dedicated, passionate, and compassionate staff — we need to continue to utilize their strengths and knowledge and maximize our value through continuous programming that works, while having an ear to the future and the changing needs of our demographics, economy, and workforce.”
The next several months will provide an opportunity to engage with partner agencies and stakeholders in order for a smooth transition, the release states.
“I never would have considered stepping aside had I not thought that the agency was in sound shape, and that there were very excellent people to step into the role,” Johnson said. “I’ll be excited to watch WDI continue in its role as a leader in the nation on workforce issues, and a champion for people in need. With Jinny’s leadership, I know WDI’s future is bright.”
