Betty (Hammond) Minor, 90, of Ocoee, Florida, walked into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glad Tidings Church, 2009 E. Fullers Cross Road in Ocoee. Visitation will start at 10:30 a.m. at Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Reception to follow at the church.

She is preceded in death by husband, Leonard; brother, John Hammond; and son-in-law, David J. Nairn. She is survived by children Mike (Patsy) and Tammy (Lee) Freshour; grandchildren Jennifer, David, Katie (Tina), Nathan and Alina; and three great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by all those she considered her children and grandchildren.

Betty was a teacher at Ocoee Elementary and had a passion for teaching children to read. She was active in her church and loved to travel. In her spare time she enjoyed playing her piano and playing Scrabble with whoever would play with her and fall for her made-up words. She was a wonderful mother who was fiercely protective and loyal to her family. She was a kind and generous woman and she will be missed.
