Project: Sending girls to camp
Report: TTT is a national organization whose primary focus is to send girls to summer camp. According to a press release, each year hundreds of fourth grade girls experience life-changing time in nature they might never experience without support from TTT .
National TTT maintains a fund that pays for the camp fees. Each individual chapter is responsible for raising funds in their community for camp clothes and supplies. TTT members take the girls shopping for camp clothes and everything they will need for their week at Tanglefoot camp in Clear Lake.
The Albert Lea chapter raises money through a Belgian waffle breakfast, an afternoon of bunko, a grant from the Communities Foundation and other community organizations that help local charitable efforts. This year Chapter W will send six girls to camp, four from Albert Lea and two from Glenville. Girls who have completed the fourth grade are chosen with the help of school personnel who know the girls and understand the impact a summer camp might have on them.
