Letter: Teachers are supposed to teach both sides of issues

Published 8:06 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2019

A recent letter to the editor has sparked certain controversy. I would like to agree with Aaron Farris, and I would even venture to expand upon his point. Bias in our schools is horrendous. By law, teachers are supposed to teach both sides of the issues, and some do but some don’t. Don’t get me wrong, teachers can have their views. I would just like to say if teachers think they can just support one side, it will backfire. Students are not as dumb as teachers think we are. We can develop our own opinions. Thank you, Aaron, for taking the time, and I hope things change next year. The point of this letter is not to support either side, but to say teachers when teaching should remain completely neutral. I would encourage more students to speak out about the liberal bias in our school system.
