Funeral services for Sylvia M. Johnson, 91, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Shane Koepke will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Sylvia died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.

Sylvia Marie Johnson was born June 3, 1928, in Northwood, the daughter of Gaylord and Pearl (Rosenberg) Christenson. She graduated from Freeborn High School in 1947. On Sept. 9, 1951, Sylvia was married to Edwin Milton Johnson.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Freeborn County Co-op. Oil and as a nurse’s aide at St. John’s Lutheran Community for 28 years.

Sylvia was very active with Grace Lutheran Church in the circle, quilting, sewing, Healthy Bones and preparing meals.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Edwin M. Johnson; and son, Gaylen M. Johnson.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Gaylord and Pearl.

Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church or Greenwood Cemetery.
