5 things to do this weekend

1. Candlelight night walk

There will be a chance to see what Edgewater Park looks like “when the lights go out.” From 8 to 10 p.m. Friday there will be a candlelight night walk starting in the southeast level of the park. There will be a bonfire and snacks after the walk, with musical entertainment provided by Ron and Steve Unplugged.

 

2. Glenville Days

Glenville Days returns once again this year, with events slated for Friday through Sunday. Some of the fun includes an egg toss, parade, soap box derby and plenty of live music, among other events. For a detailed schedule of events, look to Wednesday’s Tribune or its Summertimes publication.

 

3. Morin Lake Days

Alden’s Morin Lake Days will also take place this weekend. The fun will take place Friday through Sunday in Alden, and will include a children’s fishing contest, a fun run/walk, canoe races and a street dance, among other events. 4. Live music

Blood Brother is slated to perform for the first time at Bend in the Road this weekend. The one-man band will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the establishment, 25483 Minnesota Highway 13 in Manchester. Contact Bend in the Road for more information at 507-826-3441.

 

5. Salad luncheon

There will be a salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, 301 W. Clark St. in Albert Lea. The cost is $8, and proceeds will be split between the Food for School Backpacks program and the sanctuary lighting project.
