Melvin L. Bailey passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019, in Laguna Hills, California. He was 78. 

Melvin was born March 10, 1941, to Howard “Hub” Bailey and Minnie (Johnson) Bailey in Glenville. He graduated from Glenville High School in 1959. On Jan. 28, 1961, he married Donna Helland at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. 

In 1963 the couple moved to California, where Melvin worked at Northrup Grummun Aeronautics until his retirement. After retirement they moved to Big Bear, California, where Mel enjoyed doing many woodworking projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his wife, Donna; four children, Richard Bailey, Kimber Bailey, Pamela Lopes and Brenda Foster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  He is survived also by his brother, Roger Bailey (Lois), of Glenville and nieces and nephews.
