1. Wine, Wheels & Wildflowers

Three Oak Vineyards and Winery will host a day full of cars and music this weekend. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the classic car show will now be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the winery, 73505 225th St. in Albert Lea, due to Saturday’s weather forecast. Chloe Hope will perform from 2 to 3 p.m., and Casi Joy will perform from 3 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.threeoakwines.com or at the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau.

2. Kids Mud Fun Run

Children ages 5 to 12 years old are invited to participate in a “fun-filled course of obstacles, hills, water and mud,” according to a press release. The fourth annual mud run will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday near the Edgewater Bay Pavilion in Edgewater Park. Waivers must be signed, and appropriate footwear is required. Participants must pre-register at www.cityofalbertlea.org or Albert Lea City Arena.

3. ‘Catching Summer’

How do you fix a friendship when you kind of say things that maybe you don’t mean? In “Catching Summer,” Wisconsin native Seth Mecklenburg asks his characters to find out. The feature-length independent film, just over two hours long, features Northwood native and current Lake Mills resident Caleb Ryerson and will show at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at Marion Ross Performing Arts Center in downtown Albert Lea. Admission is $10.

4. Clarks Grove Fire Department fundraiser

There will be a fundraiser benefiting the Clarks Grove Fire Department from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Clarks Grove Fire Hall. There will be boneless pork chop sandwiches, sweet corn and pop available for a freewill donation.

5. ‘Unscrolled’

The Freeborn County Arts Initiative’s “Unscrolled” show is ongoing in the FCAI building through Aug. 31. The show is a 33-piece gallery exhibition dedicated to sumi-e, a style of east Asian brush painting that uses black ink — sumi — and traces back to seventh century China.
