Update: Service restored to Hartland, Manchester areas

Update:

The fiber cut has been repaired, and phone service to Hartland and Manchester areas have been restored, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

Those with landline prefixes 826 and 845 are experiencing a phone outage in the Hartland and Manchester areas.

Emergency Management Director Rich Hall with the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office said in an email a Fiber line was cut and cellular coverage should not be affected.

A representative from the phone company told Hall the coverage should resume in the afternoon, Hall said.

911 phone calls have been rerouted to a non-emergency number in Faribault County, Hall said, and then will be transferred to the dispatch center in Freeborn County.
