Cordelia Olson, 1917-2019

Funeral service for Cordelia G. Olson will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Revs. Michael Lilienthal and Rev. Shawn Stafford will officiate. Cordelia Olson

Cordelia G. Olson, 102, of Albert Lea died Monday, Aug. 19, 2019.

Cordelia was born March 24, 1917, in Hartland. She was the daughter of Selmer and Hilda (Johnson) Gulbrandson. She attended country school in Freeborn County.

She married Irvin Olson on Nov. 21, 1934, at Hartland Lutheran Church. Together they raised their daughter and settled in rural Albert Lea. Irvin died Oct. 18, 1993.

Together Cordelia and Irvin enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Norway. She liked to play cards, games and the occasional trip to the casino. She was also a very talented baker. Most of all, Cordelia loved to spend time with family and friends.

She is survived by her grandchildren Greg “Skip” (Diane Lewis) Ristau and Tammy (Dale) Liska; great-grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon) Bauleke, Joshua (Angie) Ristau, Katie Liska and Bethany Lewis; great-great-grandchildren Charles Bauleke, Briley Gorder, Wiliam Bauleke, Lucy Bauleke, Corbin Ristau and Cullin Ristau; son-in-law, Lavern “Skip” Ristau; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cordelia was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin; daughter, Shirley Ristau; sister, Pearl Knutson; and many other family members.
