Boy on bicycle injured in crash

A 10-year-old boy was injured Thursday afternoon after he reportedly collided with a car while on his bicycle near the intersection of Front Street and First Avenue.
According to police, Goy John Majiok, 10, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea and was later treated and released.
Police stated Majiok was headed eastbound on Front Street when he crossed the road diagonally to turn onto First Avenue and collided with a car driven by Nancy Lynne Jensen, 67, who was driving westbound on Front Street.
Oven fire reported
An oven fire was reported at 1402 Lee Ave. at 9:51 a.m. Thursday. No other information was available as of press time.
Seat belt enforcement under way
Albert Lea police cited numerous people Thursday for seat belt violations. Police want to remind residents of the extra seat belt enforcement that goes through June 5. Agencies statewide are stepping up patrols.
