David Lindahl, 1938-2019

David Lee Lindahl of Fairport, New York, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at the age of 80 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
He was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Albert Lea to Carl and Clara (Hovde) Lindahl.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Grace (Bishop) Lindahl; his daughter, Elizabeth Hogan (Michael); and son, David Jr.; two grandchildren, Taylor and Tanner Hogan; and his sister, Mary Lou Lindahl Nelson, of Austin. David also leaves brothers and sisters-in-law Ed and Kristy Bishop of Virginia and Sandra and Dan Leonard of Georgia, plus many special nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Norbert Nelson, of Austin.
After retiring from Xerox Corp. as a personnel manager, he taught at St. John Fisher College in the Masters of Business Administration program and was a substitute teacher for the Fairport School District.
He loved golf, classic cars, ’50s music and was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairport.
Above all, David was a people person and found great pleasure in being with his family and the many friends he made over his lifetime. His quick wit, compassionate spirit and pleasant personality were his trademarks.
A memorial service will take place at noon Sept. 18 at Covenant Funeral Home, 1310 Courthouse Road in Stafford, Virginia.
