Ernest “Ernie” Elmer Manuel, 68, of Greeley passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at his home.

He was born May 22, 1951, to Elmer and Lucy (Tremblez) Manuel in Albert Lea. He remained in Albert Lea through his high school graduation in 1967.

On April 1, 1997, he married Sandra Steele in South Dakota. He had lived in Greeley since 2010.

Ernest loved many hobbies, such as photography, building model trains, gas powered planes, hunting and spending time outdoors or with friends and family. Ernie could fix anything.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Manuel, of Greeley; sons Patrick (Kim) Everett of Albert Lea and Jeremy (Elaina) Steele of Albert Lea; daughters Danielle Manuel of Albert Lea, Jennifer (Casey) Hamilton of Flower Mound, Texas, and Nancy Casperson of New Hampton, Iowa; sisters Jeanette and Kathy Manuel, both of Gerpinnes, Belgium, and Lori (Steve) Dugger of Atchison, Kansas; brothers Jeff (Peg) Steele of Gibbon, Nebraska, Charlie (Juanita) Steele of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Steve (Teresa) Steele of Florida; 18 grandchildren; and many neighbors and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Lucy Manuel; and a sister, Mariette Tremblez.

A celebration of Ernie’s life will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 at 2001 Seventh St. in Greeley.
