Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota will host a “Migrants in our Midst” presentation at Good Counsel in Mankato, according to a press release.
Luis Argueta, a native of Guatemala who has produced and directed the award-winning documentary “Abrazos,” will show his film and speak on the unique struggles in his country that lead many to immigrate to the United States. Many local residents in the area from Guatemala were in the film and will speak on a panel as part of the event.
“Migrants in our Midst” is sponsored by Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota, Diocese of Winona-Rochester Social Concerns Committee, Familias Junta and The School Sisters of Notre Dame. Lunch will be provided at the event at the cost of $15. The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Good Counsel.
