PACE assists businesses with energy efficiency and conservation improvements

The Rural Minnesota Energy Board invites commercial and agri-businesses looking to make energy efficiency and conservation improvements to their facilities to apply for theboard’s Property Assessed Clean Energy program.

According to a press release, property Assessed Clean Energy program is a program that finances energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to the buildings of commercial and agri-business properties within the Rural Minnesota Energy Board region.

The Property Assessed Clean Energy program is availlable in the counties marked in green. The program helps businesses finance energy efficient and renewable energy upgrades without upfront costs. Provided

The program allows businesses to make these improvements without the upfront costs. Costs of improvements are repaid as a special assessment on the property taxes. According to a press release, the Property Assessed Clean Energy program eliminates the burden of upfront costs by providing low-cost, long-term financing.

The Rural Minnesota Energy Board Property Assessed Clean Energy program has assisted 26 businesses across Southern Minnesota in reducing their energy consumptions. Eligible projects include: Energy efficiency upgrades such as heating: ventilation and air conditioning, lighting and equipment; and renewable energy, the release stated.
