Ida Pedersen, 1915-2019

Funeral services for Eleanor Ida Pedersen will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at the St. John’s Lutheran Community on Fountain Lake chapel.
Eleanor Ida Pedersen was born to Otto and Ida (Brandt) Schooner on a farm in Minnesota Lake Township on May 22, 1915. She was baptized June 20, 1915, and confirmed April 14, 1929, at St. Paul Reformed Church in Minnesota Lake Township, Faribault County. She graduated from Wells High School in 1934.
Eleanor obtained a teachers certificate from Mankato State Teachers College and taught rural school. She lived most of her life on farms near Minnesota Lake and Alden.
Eleanor was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church as well as Busy Fingers Quilting Group. She loved fishing and traveling. In her later years she spent many hours playing cards, doing crafts and reading books.
Eleanor passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, having reached the age of 104.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Carol (William) Zell of Bloomington; granddaughters Lisa (Tom) Hallbeck of Zimmerman and Laura (Nathan) Bang of Lakeville; grandchildren Noah Hallbeck, Erica Samuel, Jeremiah Bang and Taylor (Jordan) Jacobs; great-grandchildren Juliet and Eleanor Jacobs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Community.
