Funeral service for Earl Pedersen, 85, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, 1415 State Highway 13 in Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Earl Leroy Pedersen passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, in Mapleton.

Earl was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Dows, Iowa, to Leroy and Evadana (Olson) Pedersen. He grew up in Hampton, Iowa, and moved to Northwood. He graduated from Northwood High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. After discharge from the Army, he moved back home.

Earl married Darlene Siebrecht on Aug. 25, 1957. Together they raised their family in Albert Lea. Earl worked for Albert Lea Electric for 59 1/2 years — 40 of those years as a full-time employee and the last 19 1/2 as a part-time employee.

Earl was an avid walker. You could always find him walking down at Brookside School. Most of all Earl, loved to spend time with family and friends.

Earl is survived by his sons Brian (Maleah) and Tim; grandchildren Cory, Andrea, Ashton and Lola (Cody) D. Von Brown; great-grandson, Tyrian Von Davis, and one great-granddaughter on the way; siblings Carol Patterson and Sharon (Gary) Groff; sisters-in-law LaDonna Frye, Pam Williamson and Francene (John) Lee; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Darlene.
