Artist visits Wells Depot Museum

Carmen Meyer, president of Wells Historical Society, poses with artist J.D. Speltz, who was commissioned to paint a portrait of the museum when it was a functional railroad depot as a fundraising event for the organization. Speltz attended the historical society’s regular Monday meeting to present a check to the group. Funds from the sales of the print benefit the Wells Historical Society’s efforts to restore a building next to the Wells Depot Museum that once served as the depot lunch room. - Kelly Wassenberg/Albert Lea Tribune
