First big snowfall of the year brings Albert Lea about 4 inches

The Albert Lea area saw its first measurable snowfall of the year Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, reports of 4 and 5 inches of snow were reported in Albert Lea. The Albert Lea Wastewater Treatment Plant recorded 3 inches.
Lower amounts were recorded into Iowa, with 2.7 inches recorded in Lake Mills.
The snow led to slippery road conditions and a delayed start for Northwood-Kensett Community School.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a slight chance of snow again Sunday. Temperatures were expected to dip to 8 degrees overnight Wednesday and Thursday.
