The Twin Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America voted at its executive committee meeting to set aside $7,500 to assist those who cannot afford its registration fees. Recently, the National Council of Boy Scouts of America increased membership registration fees $27 annually. The new fees are now $60 for the full-year program.
“Fortunately, thanks to the generous support we receive from the United Way, our Friends of Scouting donors and our special event sponsors and participants, the Twin Valley Council is in a position to help offset these fees to those who can least afford them,” said Twin Valley Council BSA Executive Director Ray Brauer. “In addition, the annual popcorn sale was recently competed and that allowed units to raise $139,231 collectively. This money will help units fund their Scouting program for the next year.”
