2 killed, 1 injured in Highway 14 crash

Two New Richland residents died Wednesday after their vehicle collided with a semi on U.S. Highway 14 near Claremont.
Jay Wayne Logan, 57, and Elizabeth Ann Logan, 52, reportedly died at the scene of the crash at mile marker 185 in Dodge County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The report stated the Logans were riding eastbound on Highway 14 at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday in a 2015 Ford Fusion when the car collided with a 1998 International 9000 series, driven by Merritt Lyle Davis, 75, of Cleveland, which was westbound.
Jay Logan was listed as the driver of the Fusion and Elizabeth Logan the passenger. Details about what led to the crash have not yet been released.
Davis was taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester with injuries deemed not life-threatening.
All occupants were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Claremont and Dodge Center fire departments, Dodge Center ambulance crews, Steele and Dodge county sheriff’s Office and Kasson Police Department.
