Sol Hurok, a legendary impresario once stated, “The sky’s the limit if you have a roof over your head.” Unfortunately, the roof at the Albert Lea Family Y has been leaking and is in need of repairs, according to a press release.
To help with roof repairs, Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea is donating $20,000 dollars to the Albert Lea Family Y. The money will go to its capital campaign to repair its roof to continue with its mission for years to come.
“Mayo Clinic Health System is proud to help the Albert Lea Family YMCA repair their facility,” said Dr. Mark Ciota, CEO of Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin.
“We recognize that the health and well-being of our patients extends beyond our facility, and the YMCA provides programs for all ages that address a healthy spirit, mind and body.”
Earlier this year, the Albert Lea Family Y announced a capital campaign goal of $190,000 to replace the roof. Before this donation, it had raised $160,000, the release stated.
“For over 100 years, the YMCA has put a roof over the heads of many Albert Lea residents wishing to focus on their own physical well-being while we help develop youth and interpersonal relationships,” said Executive Director of the Albert Lea Family Y Dennis Dieser.
“We are so thankful to Mayo Clinic Health System for this wonderful donation. This just gets us that much closer to reaching our goal to make the necessary repairs to serve the Albert Lea community and all of our members.”
