Duane Skophammer, 1932-2019

Duane Thomas Skophammer was born in Albert Lea on July 22, 1932, the son of Thomas N. and Inanda (Kvidt) Skophammer. He spent his early years living in the Albert Lea area and graduated from Albert Lea High School.
Duane was united in marriage July 8, 1957, to Carmen A. Ascheman at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church.
He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Hawaii and was a longtime member of the American Legion. He was employed for 37 years in the office of the local packing company.
Duane died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. He was 87 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen, of Albert Lea; and son, Randy, and his wife, Heidi, of Albert Lea. He is also survived by two grandsons, Jordan Lee and his wife, Elizabeth “Liz,” of Minneapolis and Parker Thomas and his wife, Heidi, and their children Palmer and Collins of Mankato; and a sister, Phyllis Ulland, of Hollandale.
Duane was preceded in death by his sister, Lois, and brother-in-law, Olaf Lunde; brother, Robert Skophammer; and brother-in-law, Ross Ulland.
In respect and honor of Duane’s wishes, private family services and interment will be held.
