The 2019 Albert Lea High School Salvation Army food drive ran during the month of November and had seven collection dates, according to a press release.

The second-hour classes combined to contribute the equivalent of 12,858.25 pounds of food. This is a new high school record, the release stated. Ken Fiscus said in the release he would like to thank the Student Council for collecting the food and his seventh-hour study hall students for sorting and boxing the food.

The top three class contributors (by average contribution per person) were:

• Sean Gaston’s class, 112.8 pounds, first place

• Kevin Gentz’s class, 64.8 pounds, second place

• Brittany Utzka’s class, 46.6 pounds, third place.
