Blooming Prairie tops NRHEG boys’ golf by one

In another tight battle between the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys’ golf team and Blooming Prairie the Blossoms were the victors in their home triangular, edging out the Panthers by one stroke.

Blooming Prairie shot 166 behind Soren Peterson’s 40 and a trio of 42s from Derek Resler, Adam Wondra and Jordan Resler.

NRHEG had Seth Hansen earn medalist honors with a 39 while Jon Walstrom shot 41, Jon Kormann 43 and Aaron Patraw 44.

“The Panther boys played very well pushing the Blossoms and getting within one stroke for the second time in less than a week,” said NRHEG head coach Xan Johnson.

Alden-Conger finished third with a 203.

Jordan Mulso shot 43 to lead the Knights. Brandon McTague carded a 49 while Michael Reyerson shot 55 and Josh Larson 56.

The Panther girls beat Blooming Prairie by just five strokes, 223-228 Tuesday in Blooming Prairie.

NRHEG’s Paige Sorenson tied with Maggie Sorenson for medalist honors with a 54.

Shelby Whitcomb shot 55, Abbey Holland 56 and Hannah Moe 58.

The Panthers face United South Central Thursday in Freeborn.
