Albert Lea boys’ hockey takes win over Austin; girls over Worthington

Both Albert Lea hockey teams picked up a win Tuesday night, each extending their win streaks to two.

The boys’ team dominated Austin 11-2 to improve to 7-8-1 on the season.

Scoring for the Tigers were Sam Witham, Blake Ulve (3), Campbell Cichosz (3), Owen Zelenak, John Jensen, Culley Larson and Marty Syverson.

The game marked Albert Lea’s second win over Austin this season, the first time being a 8-1 victory.

The girls hosted Worthington and shut out the Trojans 3-0, improving to 10-12 on the season.

Scoring the goals for the Tigers were junior Alli Dulitz and sophomore Lucy Stay.

Stay scored twice in the game, once in the second period and another in the third.

Junior Maddie Schneider was in the goal for Albert Lea, saving all 31 shots on goal.

The girls’ team has just three games remaining before the start of section play.
