Do you want a say in what the Republican Party stands for? Do you want to meet Republicans within your own neighborhood? Do you want to make your voice heard by Republicans running for office? Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 25, for the Freeborn County Republican Party caucuses.

This year’s Freeborn County Republican Party caucuses will be at Southwest Middle School in Albert Lea, the same location as our 2016 caucuses. Our caucuses will start promptly at 7 p.m., and we will open registration at 6:30 p.m. At caucuses, you can become a delegate or alternate to the Freeborn County Republican Party County Convention, where we will vote on amendments to the County GOP Constitution, vote on resolutions to the position platform of the Minnesota Republican Party. At caucuses, you can also become a precinct chair or secretary.

Caucuses are the first step in deciding who ends up on the general election ballot in November. Delegates and alternates elected at caucuses vote to endorse candidates for office who are then given the full support of the party. This helps these candidates an incredible amount. If you feel like you don’t have a say in who ends up on the ballot in November, and if you don’t necessarily like who ends up on the ballot in November, please attend our caucuses!

We need all Republicans to unite as we head into this election so that we can re-elect President Trump, Congressman Jim Hagedorn and Rep. Peggy Bennett. We must also work to elect both a state senator and a U.S. senator that we can be proud of and that we can trust to vote the way Minnesotans would want them to.

We are living in a pivotal time. You have a choice to make this November. That choice is one between the success that we’ve experienced over the past four years, and a far-left disaster for the United States. That choice is about your future, your family’s future, and the future of the country. The start of that choice begins on Feb. 25 with your decision to become a delegate.

Remember, if you don’t vote, you can’t complain. The same saying goes for those that do not participate in the process. We hope to see you on Tuesday, Feb. 25!

Brad Edwin is chairman of the Freeborn County Republican Party.
