Leo J. Bridley, 82, of Austin passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Our House Senior Living in Austin.
Leo was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Albert Lea to Carlyle and Elna (Anderson) Bridley. He grew up on the family farm in Moscow Township and graduated from Austin High School in 1955. Leo took over the farm when he was a senior in high school. There he raised beef cattle, which was something he truly loved.
He married Bonnie Jacobson from London, Minnesota, on Feb. 1, 1959. Together they raised four children on the farm. Leo loved to hunt and fish, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bridley, of Austin; daughter, Jodi (Tom) Adams, of Hollandale; sons Taryl Bridley of Geneva, Scott (Pam) Bridley of Moscow and John (Karrie Butler) Bridley of Myrtle; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Valborg Volmer, of Albert Lea; brother, Dean Bridley, of Mazeppa; brothers-in-law Dick (Ellen) Jacobson of Eden Prairie, Larry Jacobson of Belton, Missouri, and Wayne (Elaine) Jacobson of Chisago; sister-in-law, Myrna Gray, of San Diego; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carlyle and Elna Bridley; infant son, James Bridley; grandson, Lucas Bridley; sisters Jeanette Junge and Betty (Gordon) Aspenson; and sister-in-law, Carol Bridley.
A celebration of life will be at a later date. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
