The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce announced its annual Chamber golf outing was canceled for 2020 in an email.

“We made this difficult decision based of the current environment of the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of our members, businesses and community is our top priority. In addition to safety, the economic impact our business partners are facing is challenged, and will continued to be challenged for some time,” the Chamber said in the email.

“Over the past 56 years, our business community has been instrumental in our ability to provide scholarships to area students. That generosity and support will allow us to continue with our mission to support student scholarships this year, with awards totaling $10,000.”
