No-contact pickup will be available at Albert Lea Public Library starting Tuesday, according to a press release.
Checkouts will be limited to library material; inter-library loan is unavailable at this time.
Checkouts will be limited to 10 items, with a limit of five DVDs in order to provide library materials to meet the community’s need for information and entertainment during this time.
Reservations can be done by going to alplonline.org and clicking on the catalog to look at what the library has available. Only Albert Lea materials are available. Select from the available titles, then go to the library’s home page and click on the pickup icon to fill out the request form.
Reservations can also be done by calling 507-377-4350 or 507-377-4353 and staff will assist callers. Only Albert Lea materials are available.
When items are ready, a staff member will contact you to schedule a pickup time. When you arrive, stay in your vehicle. Staff will place bagged materials on the raised wall beside the stairs at the Clark Street entrance of City Hall. Once the staff member is inside the building, you can retrieve your requests.
Allow at least 24 hours for staff to contact you to schedule an appointment.
All items have to be returned in the book drop located by the Fountain Street entrance to City Center. No items can be returned when you are picking up your materials, due to the COVID-19 guidelines. The book drop will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
No fines will be assessed on materials that are currently checked out.
These guidelines are subject to change, the release stated.
