Daily COVID-19 update: New cases reported in area counties; Mower County passes 500 cases

Freeborn County reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing its total cumulative cases since the start of the pandemic to 176, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department.
Of the total, 103 people are now out of isolation, and one person remains hospitalized, according to the department.
The new cases included one person between 10 and 20, three people in their 20s, and two people in their 30s.
The Minnesota Department of Health stated Mower County reported 22 new cases, and has now had 504 cases. Steele County reported one new case for a total of 172. Waseca and Faribault counties had no new cases.
Statewide, there were 388 newly reported cases Sunday, for total cumulative positive cases at 27,886 statewide.
Sixteen new deaths were reported from Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Itasca, Ramsey and Stearns counties. Thirteen of the 16 deaths were residents in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The department stated 22,992 people no longer are in isolation across the state, and 450 people are hospitalized, including 199 in intensive care.
Hennepin County has had the most cases throughout the state with 9,372 positive cases and 676 deaths. Other counties with high numbers include Ramsey County with 3,507 positive cases and 155 deaths, Stearns County with 2,070 positive cases and 16 deaths, and Anoka County with 1,585 cases and 82 deaths.
