An Albert Lea police officer stopped a vehicle on Interstate 35 near the junction of Interstate 90 about 2:44 a.m. today for speeding. Upon checking the occupants of the vehicle, a 46-year-old identified as Santos Felipe Reyes-Gonzales was located. Reyes-Gonzales was found to have a warrant from Maricopa County, Ariz., for the following: second-degree attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault. Reyes-Gonzales was taken into custody without incident, according to the police report.

Attempted theft reported

Jeremy Brian Rietsema, 22, no address listed, was arrested by Albert Lea police officers at 1:19 a.m. Tuesday for allegedly trying to take a stereo out of a vehicle on East Seventh Street. The police report said Rietsema was charged with tampering with motor vehicle, theft, possession of stolen property and possession of theft tools.
