FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota State’s Ben Woodside is getting ready for NBA tryouts in the coming weeks.
Woodside is getting tryouts with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies and the Houston Rockets. His agent, Mark Bartelstein, says there will be more.
Woodside ended his NDSU men’s basketball career last month with 2,315 points, the most in school history.
Bartelstein compares Woodside to two of his other clients, backup guards Eddie House and Chris Quinn. He says Woodside has a great chance at the NBA.
Woodside, who’s from Albert Lea, says people may look at a 5-foot-11 kid and say he’s not NBA ready. He says, “I know for a fact I will work my hardest at every workout to try to prove that I have what it takes.”
