City and county issue May’s building permits reports

Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued its May building permit report, and the result shows an increase that more than doubles the total for permit valuations listed for the first four months of the year.

At the end of April, the listed total for permits so far in 2010 was $694,729. During May the county issued 27 building permits with a valuation of $891,294. The result is a a total valuation of $1,586,023 for county permits issued during the first five months of the year.

Two of the county permits were issued for new homes, and five permits were for home additions and/or garages.

The City of Albert Lea Inspection Department issued 46 building permits during May with a valuation of $438,747. This increases the total valuation for city-issued permits to $3,366,602 for the first five months of the year.

At the end of May 2000 the city’s report shows a valuation of $3,616,164 for permits issued.
