Leaders of the Freeborn County Child Abuse Prevention Council — along with representatives from the Freeborn County Board of Commissioners, the city of Albert Lea, the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, the Albert Lea Police Department, the Albert Lea Fire Department and the Albert Lea Ambulance Service — will have a proclamation event on Thursday in light of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The event will be at The Children’s Center at 605 James Ave., Albert Lea, at 10 a.m.

The goal is to teach that child abuse prevention is possible.
