Domestic Engineers

The Domestic Engineers Learning Circle met in the home of Sally Benson at 7 p.m. April 28. Sally introduced the speaker, Ian Castillo, a Rotary Club exchange student from Chile. He showed pictures of his country and spoke of the different areas, because of the length of the country the climate varies form north to south. He didn’t speak any English when he came here but the Spanish-speaking students had helped him and interpreted for him.

Roll call was taken with eight members present. Secretary and treasurer’s reports were given and approved. Sunshine Lady, Carol Olson, reported she had sent two birthday cards to residents of Broadway Board and Care Plus home. She had also taken Easter treats there. She also had taken gifts to Gen Montei following her surgery and to Sally Benson because of a broken arm, and a thinking of you card to Perky Smith.

Members expressed good reports on the Spring Cluster Event held on April 26 at America’s Best Value Inn.
