ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The City of Albert Lea will receive bids for the VFW Building Wall & Roof Emergency Repair Project subject to terms and conditions contained in Bidding Documents prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH). Bids will be on a Lump Sum basis.
Owner will receive, by mail or personal delivery at the Albert Lea City Hall (221 E Clark Street, Albert Lea, MN 56007), sealed bids from qualified bidders until 12:00 PM (CST), Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at which time bids will be opened and tabulated according to law.
A Pre-bid Conference will not be held. Bidders wishing to visit the site shall contact the City Building Official to arrange a site visit.

Plans, specifications, and proposals are available for electronic download at QuestCDN.com, Quest Project No. 8667855, for a $30.00 nonrefundable fee. A hardcopy of the plans, specifications, and proposals may be obtained at the office of the City Engineer, City Center, Albert Lea, Minnesota, 56007 for a $35.00 nonrefundable fee. Only listed planholders will be allowed to bid this project.
Bidders will be required to provide a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of bid amount. The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds of one hundred percent (100%) of bid amount. Contractors may be requested to submit “Contractor’s Qualification Statement”.
A Contractor responding to these Bidding Documents must submit to the City/Owner a signed statement under oath by an owner or officer verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria in Minnesota Statutes, section 16C.285, subdivision 3.
Owner reserves right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in bids or bidding.
