Two people were injured Sunday afternoon after an ATV crash south of Albert Lea.

Deputies received a report at 3:22 p.m. of two people who had been injured in the crash at 16604 750th Ave. and were being taken by private vehicle to the emergency room at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office stated Austin Perkins, 41, of rural Albert Lea, and Patrick Krueger, 42, of Ellendale, received injuries deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the two men were riding in a 2020 Polaris side-by-side 1000XP on a field road when the back end started to slide. The ATV hit a frozen patch, flipped and landed on its roof.

Both men were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor.
