Michael Palascak Late Night Comedy

Stand-up comedian Michael Palascak is performing one night only at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. A few of Michael Palascak’s past performances include “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “A Little Late with Lilly Singh,” “Letterman” and many more. He has a Comedy Central Half Hour special and was a Top 5 finalist on “Last Comic Standing.” Tickets for his show are $25 and can be purchased online, by phone or at the box office. Winter parenting book club

Join fellow parents Thursday at Brookside Education Center and discuss literature such as “Let Them Be Kids” by Jessica Smartt, “It’s OK Not To Share” by Heather Shumaker, “Clutter Free With Kids” by Joshua Becker and “Hands Free Mama” by Rachel Macy Stafford. Book club meetings will be held every other week and books are included in the $16 enrollment fee. Indoor 3-D Archery Tournament

Join the Full Draw Archery Club for an indoor 3-D archery tournament with 30 targets, including three pop-ups and three moving targets at 8 a.m. Saturday. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers and $5 for all youth ages 16 and under.

Hot Reads for Cold Nights at library

Join the Albert Lea Public Library for the adult and young adult winter reading program. Hot Reads for Cold Nights 2024 runs through Feb. 29. Reading logs will be available for pick-up starting in January. Participants who finish their first reading log will win a prize and be entered to win a grand prize or they may do additional reading for more grand prize entries.

Storytime at Northwood Public Library

Children ages 5 and younger, as well as their parents and caregivers, are invited to a preschool story time at the Northwood Public Library. It will begin from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and continue every Friday in January.
