Roland “Rollie” Somnis

Roland was a proud military veteran, joining the Army with his buddy, Milford Bohonek, before meeting his beloved Patricia “Pat” Weisner and getting hitched a month later. Together Rollie and Pat welcomed four children, Jody, Michael, Robert, and Kevin. Rollie was a devoted husband to Pat, who he tirelessly cared for throughout her medical challenges in their last five years together. She was his world, his greatest love, and his unwavering support.

A man of great work ethic, Rollie would join the manufacturing industry where he dedicated 33 years of hard work at Streaters Inc. Known for his generosity and willingness to help others, he was always there for his friends and family, whether it was with his trusty chainsaws or sharing the harvest from his beloved vegetable garden.

In his free time, Rollie enjoyed supporting the Minnesota Vikings, spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life like sitting outside and feeding the feral cats in his neighborhood. He also cherished moments with his grandchildren and was well-loved by many for his humor and kindness.

Rollie will be remembered fondly for his infectious sense of humor and camaraderie. In his final days at Good Samaritan Society, he continued to brighten the days of those around him with his jokes and kind spirit.
