Lori Jean Cooper, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024 at St John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, MN.
Born on December 31, 1950, to Roy and Carol (Thorson) Cooper in Albert Lea, MN, Lori enriched the lives of many throughout her remarkable journey. After graduating from Albert Lea schools, she pursued her passion for nursing, proudly earning her degree from Austin Community College in 1975.
Lori touched countless lives as a dedicated registered nurse in Casper, Wyoming and Rapid City, SD, before returning home and retiring from Comfort Care in Austin, MN. Her compassion, care, and unwavering commitment to her patients were evident in everything she did.
A gentle soul, Lori exuded love and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her creative spirit found solace in the arts and crafts, further illuminated by her love for travel alongside her mother, along with shopping for antiques. Her love for her pups Jade, Anjette, and Abella was a testament to her nurturing nature, and her unwavering faith served as a guiding light in her life.
A believer in savoring life’s simple pleasures, Lori’s wish was for others to revel in the joys throughout life, to relish in moments of fun and laughter. Her grand indulgence lay in a hearty meal of Ribeye steak, baked potato, asparagus, and Strawberry pie.
Lori’s memory will forever be cherished by her sister, Nancy (James) Cope; brother, Mark Cooper; niece, Kaitlin Cope; nephew, Geoffrey Cope; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:00 Am at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services in Albert Lea, MN; Pastor Clayton Balsley will officiate. Lori’s family will greet guests at a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN.
