Tigers place 2nd in triangular

Despite a considerable amount of rain, the Albert Lea boys’ track and field team was able to get in a triangular against Faribault and Austin Tuesday and post some excellent performances. The final score placed the Tigers in second place:
- Faribault, 104
- Albert Lea, 65
- Austin, 17
Highlights included pole vaulting, which had three Tigers jumping higher than 10 feet. Elijah Goskeson jumped 10′ 7″ (personal best).
Aiden Hartman jumped 11’1″ (personal best), and Alex Palmer finished second with a jump of 13’1″ (personal best) and two inches shy of the state-qualifying mark.
Other performances included the 4x800m relay team finishing first with a time of 8:54.92 (Season best: Isaiah McGaffey, Aiden Hartman, Noah McGaffey, Andrew Tscholl)
Alex Palmer placed second in the 100 with a time of 11.53 (personal best)
Isaiah Anderson placed fourth in the 100 with a time of 11.65 (personal best)
Alex Palmer placed second in the 200 with a time of 23.83 (personal best)
Connor May placed fourth in the 200 with a time of 24.18 (personal best)
Payton Earl placed second in the 400 with a time of 55.61 (personal best)
Jayson Mikels placed fourth in the 400 with a time of 56.99 (personal best)
Ben Schulz placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:18.13 (personal best)
Noah McGaffey placed fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:18.94 (personal best)
Isaiah McGaffey placed first in the 1600 with a time of 4:44.88 (personal best)
Andrew Tscholl placed first in the 3200 with a time of 10:32.15 (personal best)
Caden Hanke placed third in the 3200 with a time of 12:00.19 (personal best)
Charlie Irvine placed fourth in the 300 hurdles with at time of 44.36 (personal best)
The Tigers finished first in the 4x100m relay with a time of 45.52 (Teaghan Tolbers, Alex Palmer, Connor May, Isaiah Anderson)
Payton Earl finish third in the shot put with a throw of 35’1″ (personal best)
Josh Jordahl finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 33’10”
Henry Buendorf finished second in the discus with a throw of 104’9″ (personal best)
Trenton Mikels finished second in the high jump with a jump of 5’4″
Kaden Carlson finished third in the high jump with a jump of 5’0″ (personal best)
Charlie Irvine finished second in the Long jump with a jump of 19’2″
Teaghen Tolbers third in the Long jump with a jump of 19’0″ (personal best
Charlie Irvine finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 39′ 4″ (personal best)
The Tigers compete on Thursday in New Richland and next week Tuesday in Winona at the True Team Section where they look to improve upon their fifth-place finish from last year.
