Peggy Ackland (Crawford)

Peggy was born Sept. 13, 1942 to Omer and Faye Crawford. She was born and raised near Keota, Iowa on the family farm. In 1960, Peggy graduated Keota High School and on August 5, 1961, she married Richard Ackland. In 1972, They started Lou-Rich-Hayward in a partnership with friends, Louie and Sally Larson. Peggy assisted the company with numerous tasks including driving a flat bed truck for Lou-Rich. The company grew successful in a large part because of Peggy’s influence and hard work. They resided in Albert Lea, while wintering in Mission, TX for numerous years before moving full time to Mission in 2020.

She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, spending time with family, traveling, especially to Scotland/Ireland, and watching her granddaughter play softball. Prior to arthritis in her fingers, Peggy enjoyed knitting, quilting and making cards. Her specialty was peanut brittle that she made and gave away at Christmas time.
