Dads can swim for free at city pool on Father’s Day

Celebrate Father’s Day at the Albert Lea Aquatic Center, 321 James Ave., when dads can swim for free with paid admission of one child swimmer. The pool will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, weather permitting.

On Tuesday, neighborhood parks will visit the Aquatic Center. Students in grades K-5 have free admission to the Aquatic Center as long as they ride the bus from one of the following parks:

  • Noon: Sondegaard, 806 17th St.
  • 12:15 p.m.: Hawthorne
  • 12:30 p.m.: Lakeview, 102 Willamor Road

The bus will leave the pool at 4 p.m. to return students to parks. Please pack a lunch for your student to eat at Frank Hall Park before the Aquatic Center opens, along with a swimsuit, towel and money for snacks.

Also at Sondegaard Park on Tuesday, the Rec Department will be there at 10:30 a.m. with games, crafts and more.

On Thursday, the Aquatic Center will hold a Teen Night for students ages 12- 15 only. There will be music by DJ Kessel. Admission is $4 per swimmer or a season pass.
