Main Street in Albert Lea was closed to motorists Sunday afternoon as floodwaters continued to rise.
Barricades were up on all sides of the flooding.
City crews had put sandbags along the shore of Fountain Lake near the dam and continued to monitor the situation.
The flooding comes after the area saw multiple rounds of heavy rain. A flood warning remains in effect through 10 a.m. Monday.
Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Motorists should expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
