In Minnesota, Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV) has unveiled a stunning transformation at its Grand Casino properties in Hinckley and Mille Lacs, marking a new era of luxury and cultural celebration. The grand opening ceremony saw the ribbon-cutting at both locations, celebrating the culmination of nine months of dedicated work on over 1,100 hotel rooms. Each room now boasts modern designs, enhanced comfort, and a range of amenities that promise a superior guest experience.

Ronda Weizengger, CEO of Grand Casinos, expressed pride in the renovations, highlighting that the upgrades are designed to enhance the experience for both guests and employees. The effort to create a fun and pleasant workplace reflects the company’s holistic approach to hospitality. The extensive renovation project saw collaboration with numerous partners, including Hunt Electric, Cuningham Architects, Egan Company, and Atmosphere Commercial Interiors. A dedicated crew of 120 people worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.

Art played a crucial role in the renovation, with 14 artists contributing to the project. Joe Nayquonabe, CEO of MLCV, praised the artists for their exceptional work, resulting in what he described as true masterpieces and authentic portrayals of the Anishinaabe people. The rooms are adorned with blankets that hold deep cultural significance. While guests will appreciate their beauty, Anishinaabe people will recognize the cultural roots and healing powers embedded in each design. This thoughtful integration of art ensures that the spaces resonate deeply with cultural meaning and pride.

At Grand Casino Hinckley, guests will also find jingle art, which holds special significance for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. This artistic element adds another layer of cultural depth to the experience, celebrating the rich heritage of the community.
