Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Your Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition, as you may know, was recently blindsided by an email from UHD saying they were no longer coming to Albert Lea. Several meetings have taken place since that happened and many things have been going on behind the scenes. We have heard many rumors, much speculation and questions especially why we would host a gala at this time. Our mission to bring in quality, affordable health care has not changed in the least. The proceeds we will be raising from this event will help us to move forward in finding a new partner to restore our clinic and to bring services back to Albert Lea. Many people are unaware that the Mason City Clinic, who had provided the specialists that were here before are practicing in our building. They have been here since the beginning of June and are having a ribbon cutting on Wednesday the 11th of September at noon at the John and Susan Morrison building (the former Herbergers). All are invited to that event. We have spoken to other interested entities and will continue to do so until we find the right fit for Albert Lea. We have many positives in our favor — there are actually doctors and staff right in Albert Lea who would love to work at a clinic in town. We have a completed clinic ready for someone to come in to it. Most importantly to us is the fact that the citizens of this community deserve choices. Our supporters have been amazing and are so appreciated. Our gala committee, which has been phenomenal, has worked so hard to make this event even better than the last. We do hope you will want to join us on this journey, the gala is on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the John and Susan Morrison building. This year we are not in the mall but in our unoccupied space, and it will be wonderful to see it transformed for this event. There will be the Johnny Holmes Band, Sundae and Mr. Goessl and the Albert Lea Orchestra. Also there will be a silent auction and a live auction. The tickets include food, wine and beer, a cash bar will be available. For more information on this, you can look at our Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition FaceBook page, and you can get tickets at Leutholds, Cento, Between Friends and Homestead Boutique. Again, thank you, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the gala.
